Get to Know Gregg

Gregg brings a powerful blend of competitive athletic experience, nonprofit and for-profit board service, and executive business leadership to his role as President of NSAWMF.

A former football scholarship recipient and offensive tackle at the University of Colorado, Gregg’s athletic career was cut short by a knee injury that tested his mental resilience and redefined his path. This pivotal moment gave him firsthand insight into the critical gap in support systems for athletes, particularly the need to prioritize mental fitness alongside physical training and nutrition. That experience continues to drive his passion for building environments where athletes are equipped to succeed both in competition and in life.

As mental health challenges rise among young athletes, the need for accessible mental fitness tools has never been more urgent. Parents, coaches, athletes, and institutions all need education, training, and expert guidance to develop mentally strong athletes. When young athletes build mental fitness, they perform at a higher level, become better teammates, and grow into confident, resilient leaders.

Following his time at Colorado, Gregg built a distinguished corporate career. He has held senior executive roles, including Executive Vice President and Chief Customer Officer at CenterPoint Energy and Chief Customer Officer at National Grid. He has been recognized by Savoy Magazine as one of the Most Influential Black Corporate Executives (2022) and Most Influential Black Corporate Directors (2024) for his leadership in customer experience, innovation, and transformation.

He currently serves as an Independent Board Director at Pentair Plc. and Fortis Inc., and is a Senior Advisor to the Boston Consulting Group. Gregg is known for his strategic vision, collaborative leadership, and ability to drive impact across complex systems and diverse stakeholders.

As President of NSAWMF, Gregg applies his leadership and lived experience to expand the association’s reach, deepen its impact, and build scalable programs that center the total development of athletes—as competitors, teammates, and future leaders.
